These questions were from JCorrachComics, who was my first ever follower on CF and is also generally just a really nice and talented guy. Go check out his new comic!
There's a second half to this question which will be posted next week, and that will wrap up the Q&A. โ˜บ

Awww I love these behind the scenes sketches- and dream inspired stories! Ahhh its so cool what the mind just. Comes up with... and then where you can lead it! Makes my heart go all fuzzy ๐Ÿ’–

also a minecraft year is essential to the creative process, imo ๐Ÿ‘€

Thank you! I had a good time going through old sketchbooks. And yeah, it's so interesting what can come up, tho it's kind of a double-edged sword, you know? The ideas are so interesting but it's hard to assemble a story around one great scene. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Literally, I have such a hard time balancing art with gaming that I just have to save video games for times when I know I'm taking a break. They completely take over my life.

ooooo this speaks to me so much. gives me chills!! i can't express it fully, but i'm glad you're here bringing this work. starting a comic on a whim is always a risky thing, but it brings such good things into the world sometimes

Thank you, I'm glad you know what I mean. <3 Just making comics has totally changed the structure of my life, not even considering all the social opportunities I've had through this site. Art is really something.

It is such a treat to see these concept sketches! I love seeing where the concept started out and how some things still translated into the current versions of the characters. Also, it is super awesome that you decided to branch off the dream that you really had!

Iโ€™m so glad you decided to post the comic on its own site too, I have to agree it does have a very special charm and straightforwardness to it that has gone unmatched by webcomic social medias in my opinion.

Anyways, I loved reading this Q&A! I canโ€™t wait for the next chapter to start and to see how Joy is going to eventually respond to all this (if she finds out in time)!

I'm glad you liked them! It was fun looking back for me as well :)

Yeah I'm ecstatic that I picked Comicfury, I really like the low stakes atmosphere, like you're free to pursue your own personal projects instead of turning your art into a product, you know? I really like the community interactions, too - that's something I didn't realize I had missed so much. It makes me so happy to just be able to talk with readers!

And thank you <3 I hope you like chapter 5, I'm very excited to post is. Joy is definitely in for something when these two arrive.

Literally I've watched so much anime about science experience and robot girls that it simmers in my brain like a crock pot when I go to sleep!

Thank you for compliments bud :')

Holy crap its so cool to see the first couple tests for what the main cast looked like!! And how fitting that this came from a dream, I've been saying this whole time that you knock the dream scenes out of the park, and I mean it every time. With how you'd been talking about finding the balance between cartoons and adding more realism to designs, maybe gold scissors was the perfect project to get into after all?

I'm not translating my point here very well just like, dreams tend to be a weird mix of symbols and exaggerated realism as they are, right? So having a desire to blend those in your art already, and to have been honing that, it's no wonder this has all worked so well. I'm really, really glad you decided to share this and I stumbled upon reading it, cos it's been an absolute joy to do so
